The Liechtenstein Law acted as inspiration for The Netherlands Antilles and that European model was adapted and used for creating the modern “Private Foundation” which is a much more flexible structure. It also has many advantages as far as international asset planning is concerned.

One of the interesting features of the Netherlands Antilles Law on “Private Foundations” is the fact that despite taking inspiration from Latin Law, it includes some interesting aspects which are commonly used in “Anglo-Saxon Law”. For example we may consider the adoption of a “supervisory body” or “protector” .
